Your privacy and trust are the foundation of the Mizumi experience. We are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data and to building a service where you can feel safe and in control.

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights concerning that data. Our core promise is simple: we minimize data collection and prioritize your privacy by default.

1. Data We Collect

We only collect data that is essential for the Service to function, for safety and moderation, or to improve your experience.

A. Information from Discord:

  • Discord User ID: We store your unique Discord User ID to link your settings and data to your account.
  • Discord Username: We do not permanently store your username, but it is received and used by the Service in commands to facilitate AI communication (e.g., addressing you by name).

B. Data We Collect and Store:

  • Bot Interaction Data: To provide a persistent experience, we store data related to your interactions with Mizumi. This includes your token balance, persona customization choices, and your Connection Level. If you subscribe, we also store your premium subscription status.
  • Conversation Context Cache: To allow for coherent conversations, our system holds the last several messages of an active conversation in a secure, short-term cache. This cache is not automatically deleted unless our cache server restarts, but you can manually clear it at any time using the /clear command. This command also erases any long-term summaries that may have been generated from past conversations.

2. Our Conversation Content Policy: A Two-Tiered Approach

We have a strict, risk-based policy for handling the content of your conversations.

A. SFW (Standard Persona) Conversations:

  • Your Messages: The content of your messages in SFW mode is never logged or stored. It is processed in-memory to generate a response and then immediately discarded.
  • AI Responses: We log the anonymous text of the AI's SFW responses indefinitely. This data is completely disconnected from your User ID and is used solely for quality assurance, debugging, and improving the AI's persona.

B. NSFW (Advanced Persona) Conversations:

  • Your Messages: The content of your messages in NSFW mode is not logged or stored by default.
  • The "Safety Incident" Exception: Our NSFW environment is actively monitored by a multi-layered, automated safety system. In the rare event that this system blocks a message (from you or the AI) for a violation of our Terms of Service (such as content related to minors or hate speech), a detailed incident report is created. This report includes your User ID, the content of the message that triggered the violation, and the reason it was blocked. This is the only time your message content is ever stored. These incident reports are stored securely and are subject to our Data Retention policy below.

3. Data Retention

We believe in data minimization. We only keep your data for as long as we have a legitimate reason to.

  • Bot Interaction Data is kept as long as you are using the bot.
  • Anonymous AI Responses are kept indefinitely for long-term analysis.
  • Safety Incident Reports and User-Initiated Reports are permanently and automatically deleted from our systems after a limited period, typically 90 days. This is to ensure we have the necessary information for moderation while minimizing the long-term storage of sensitive data.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

All premium purchases and subscriptions are handled exclusively through our official Patreon page. We use Patreon's API to confirm your subscription status.

  • We never receive or store your credit card details, billing address, or any other sensitive payment information. This is all handled securely by Patreon.
  • We only receive a confirmation from Patreon that includes your subscription tier and linked Discord User ID to grant you premium benefits in the Service.

5. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and maintain the Mizumi Service.
  • To personalize your experience (e.g., saving your persona choices).
  • To ensure the safety and security of our platform and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To respond to user support requests.
  • To analyze anonymous, aggregated data to improve the quality of our AI.

6. Data Sharing

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. Data is used exclusively for the operation, safety, and improvement of the Mizumi Service. We may be required to disclose data to law enforcement or other authorities if compelled by a legal order, particularly in cases involving illegal content.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can do this by joining our official support server and contacting us directly. Please note that this will permanently erase all your progress and settings.
